Let Me Introduce Myself

My name is Katie and I live on the border of the Peak District in Derbyshire, UK. I’m a country bumpkin through and through, a littlest sister with two older siblings, an aunt to two nephews, a daughter to two wonderful parents and an adopted mother to a rescue Siberian Husky.

I recently finished my studies in Computing and have a background of web development, systems architecture, games design, project management, computer science, object oriented programming, script writing, film editing and film analysis.

Having worked in a Cinema for six years as a Projectionist and Supervisor, I returned to University to complete a Foundation Degree in Applied Computing and Games Development through Sheffield Hallam University before topping up to a BSc Hons Undergraduate Degree through the University of Cumbria in Carlisle.

I love to write and have published music and film reviews online as well as taking the time to write my own short stories in my spare time, I also adore reading and quote my favourite writers as Alice Hoffman, Bill Bryson, Shakespeare, Professor Brian Cox, J.G. Ballard, Jane Austen, Emily Dickinson, Edgar Allen Poe, Virginia Woolf  and J.K. Rowling.

My other interests and hobbies include mental health, amateur photography, geography and travel, animal welfare, environmental issues, arts and culture, politics, yoga, pilates, meditation, and homeopathic medicines. I also am an avid follower and raise awareness of the British Lung Foundation, Mind, British Heart Foundation and the RSPCA.

Come join me on my blog to find out all about me, my adventures or perhaps what’s just in my head. Nice to meet you!

Pretty much similar story to mine. I done BS in Comp Engineering and used to spend all time in SW house and it wasn’t until 2013 when I went for MS when I realized the dire conditions of Human Rights and since then I am a non-official worker for Human/Animal Rights
